Feilden + Mawson LLP Architects were appointed to assist the Royal Norwich Golf Club realise their plans to relocate from their current Norwich site to join forces with the Weston Park Golf Club situated north-west of the city.
The proposal included improving the entrance with the refurbishment of listed gates and gatehouse, and a new entrance drive through woodland to create a sense of arrival.
The new clubhouse is part refurbishment with new-build extensions to create a contemporary interior for changing rooms, pro-shop, administration, kitchen and dining facilities with a 200-person function space overlooking the practice pitch and 18th Tee.
A new driving range and state of the art greenkeepers’ facility enhances the golf offering.
Opened in 2019, relocation of the Royal Norwich has enabled the club to provide East Anglia with a new championship golf course while releasing their previous site for residential development of up to 1000 new homes.
